40-year-old professional rock climber Charles Barrett has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting women at Yosemite National Park. Barrett, who lived and worked in the park, was convicted by a federal jury on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and one count of abusive sexual contact. The court heard how Barrett used his status as a prominent climber to assault women in the rock-climbing community and intimidate victims who reported the crimes.
