68-year-old Taunton School District crossing guard Louis Chaves was arrested for assaulting a parent with a stop sign stick, resulting in employment termination.

68-year-old Taunton School District crossing guard, Louis Chaves, was arrested following an altercation on high school grounds on June 3. Charged with three counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, Chaves allegedly assaulted a mother with a stop sign stick while her child was in the car. Taunton Public Schools has terminated Chaves' employment.
