Junior doctors in England plan a five-day strike from June 27 to July 2 due to pay disputes with the government.

Junior doctors in England will stage a five-day strike from June 27 until July 2 due to ongoing pay disputes with the government. The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced the strike after fresh talks in mid-May failed to produce a credible new pay offer. Junior doctors are demanding a 35% pay increase to compensate for 15 years of below-inflation pay rises. This will be the 11th walkout in the dispute and will cause significant disruption to elective services, such as routine operations, just days before the general election.
