IEA suggests accelerating clean energy transition may lead to affordable, fairer energy system.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) suggests speeding up the global transition to clean energy technologies could lead to more affordable energy and ease cost-of-living pressures. A new IEA report, 'Strategies for Affordable and Fair Clean Energy Transitions', indicates that investing more in clean energy, even though it requires additional upfront capital, can reduce the operating costs of the global energy system by more than half over the next decade compared with a trajectory based on current policy settings. This results in a more affordable and fairer energy system for consumers.
