IEA predicts global electricity demand surge, driven by China, with clean energy production concerns.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has declared that the world is entering an "age of electricity," largely driven by China. In its World Energy Outlook, the IEA forecasts a surge in global electricity demand, potentially matching Japan's annual consumption. While electricity is rapidly replacing fossil fuels, concerns arise over whether clean energy production can meet rising demand and emission reduction goals. Since 2010, low-emission energy output increased by 4,800 terawatt-hours.
