16-year-old Ralph Yarl, who survived a brain injury from being mistakenly shot in the head, participated in the "Going the Distance for Brain Injury Run" on Memorial Day. The event, organized by the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City, supports survivors and raises funds for programs and services for brain injury patients and their families. Yarl was honored as this year's special honoree, and the race aimed to show hope and solidarity for brain injury survivors.
