North Carolina's Attorney General, Josh Stein, has filed a lawsuit against Pactiv Evergreen for breaching a 2014 grant agreement with the state's Department of Commerce. The company allegedly received $12 million in economic development incentives in exchange for maintaining operations and at least 800 jobs through December 2024, but closed the Canton paper mill in 2023.
