High Court rules 11 of Joey Barton's social media posts about Jeremy Vine are defamatory.
A High Court judge has ruled that former footballer Joey Barton's social media posts, calling radio and TV presenter Jeremy Vine a "bike nonce" and a "pedo defender," were defamatory. The judge determined that 11 out of 14 online posts could defame Vine, who is suing Barton for libel and harassment. The term "nonce" was found to be used in its primary meaning to allege Vine has a sexual interest in children.
