EHRC launches investigation into DWP over alleged breach of equality law in treatment of disabled people.
Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has launched an investigation into the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) over allegations of breaking equality law in their treatment of disabled people. The regulator is examining the DWP's health assessment determinations and whether they failed to make reasonable adjustments for disabled claimants with learning disabilities or long-term mental health conditions. The investigation also assesses whether the department complied with its Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED).
