South Korean study finds ex-smokers vaping have higher lung cancer risk than non-vapers.
A study in South Korea found that ex-cigarette smokers who vaped were at a higher risk of lung cancer than those who didn't vape. The research, conducted at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, examined 4.3 million individuals with a history of conventional smoking. It showed that former smokers who took up vaping were more likely to develop lung cancer than those who didn't vape, demonstrating the increased risk of lung cancer in e-cigarette users after smoking cessation.
