Microsoft and South Africa's Department of Trade, Industry and Competition signed an empowerment agreement, with Microsoft pledging a R1.3bn investment over ten years. The funds will support skills and capability development, as well as enterprise development for youth and small, medium-sized, and microenterprises. This agreement will also involve establishing an R&D Council and collaborating with the Localisation Support Fund for tech resources.
