2 BTP officers received final warnings for taking a break during Manchester Arena attack, while IOPC found significant security failures and recommended an apology to victims' families.

Two British Transport Police (BTP) officers received final written warnings for taking a two-hour break, during which they went for a kebab, on the night of the Manchester Arena attack in 2017. The officers' actions were investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which found significant failures by all five BTP officers on duty that night. The IOPC recommended the BTP apologise to the victims' families for the security failures on the night.
