8 Greater Manchester Police officers suspended over racial discrimination allegations, IOPC involved.

Eight Greater Manchester Police officers have been suspended over allegations of racial discrimination. The officers, all based in the Bury district, were suspended after investigations into the allegations. Two additional officers were placed on restricted duties. The police force has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for further investigation. The incidents are separate from another ongoing GMP investigation concerning an officer at Manchester Airport who was filmed allegedly kicking and stamping on a man's head. The IOPC is currently investigating the first report while GMP is to investigate the second incident.
