Douglas Hughes, convicted for his role in a 2022 group attack on Oliver Nicholson who was fatally stabbed in Victoria in April, faced sentencing. Nicholson was lured into a room in 2020 to discuss a drug debt, where he was later assaulted, taped to a chair, and a heated toonie placed on his chest before being set on fire. Hughes is one of five people convicted for their involvement in the incident, with the others guilty of confinement and assault causing bodily harm.
