Credit card debt in the US is rising, with the average at $6,555, according to a report by Scholaroo. New Jersey residents have the highest average debt at $8,155 per card. Connecticut, Maryland, New York, Alaska, Colorado, California, Massachusetts, Florida, and Hawaii have average credit card debts over $7,600. The survey of over 2,000 people across the US was conducted in the final quarter of 2023.
