In NSW, Australia, over 260 retired teachers have expressed interest in returning to work due to increased pay and reduced administrative workloads. The NSW Department of Education contacted 1500 former teachers who left their jobs in the past five years, with 145 now linked to schools for casual and temporary work across over 600 schools. Around 60% of the returning teachers are coming out of retirement, motivated by better pay and reduced workloads.
