New research suggests a personalised screening algorithm in the first trimester of pregnancy can help detect preeclampsia, a life-threatening form of high blood pressure during pregnancy, more accurately. Published in the American Heart Association's journal Hypertension, the research combined maternal history, ultrasound data, and blood marker tests to better predict preeclampsia, which can cause maternal death, preterm birth, and baby death.
