Chronic high blood pressure during pregnancy in the US doubled between 2008 and 2021, according to a study published in Hypertension. The number of individuals with chronic hypertension during pregnancy reached 3.7% in 2021, up from 1.8% in 2008. Treatment rates for chronic hypertension during pregnancy remained relatively low and stable, with only about 60% of those affected receiving antihypertensive medications.
