Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa D. Cook, the first Black woman and fourth native-born Georgian to serve on the board, delivered two keynote addresses at Georgia College & State University's commencement ceremonies. Cook's mother was the first Black tenured faculty member in the university's School of Nursing. During the event, GCSU President Cathy Cox praised Cook's commitment to mentoring and advocating for underrepresented groups in economics.
