Tobago's beaches reopened last week, a week after a shark attack on a British tourist, Peter Smith, 64, at Turtle Beach. The Office of the Chief Secretary (OCS) had closed the beaches along the island's western coast and worked with stakeholders to refine the Tobago Marine Safety Plan. The OCS expressed gratitude to those involved for their understanding, patience, and cooperation during the beach closure.
