Orphaned bear cub rescued from tree, thriving at Appalachian Wildlife Refuge for rehabilitation.
An orphaned bear cub rescued after being pulled from a tree by people attempting to take pictures with it is now thriving at the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge. The cub, found in poor condition after being left in a tree at an apartment complex in North Carolina, is being monitored and cared for at the sanctuary. The refuge aims to rehabilitate black bear cubs and, if possible, return them to the wild later this year.
