Climate activist Joanna Smith, 54, was sentenced to 60 days in prison for defacing Edgar Degas' sculpture, Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen, at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. Smith, who faces a maximum sentence of five years, must also serve 24 months of supervised release and complete 150 hours of community service, including 10 hours of graffiti cleaning. She is barred from entering the District of Columbia and all museums and monuments for two years and must pay restitution for the damage caused.
