30-year-old anti-abortion activist Lauren Handy has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for leading a blockade of a reproductive health clinic in Washington, D.C., in October 2020. Handy, along with several co-defendants, was convicted of federal civil rights offenses for obstructing access to the Washington Surgi-Clinic. Handy will receive credit for about nine months of time already served.
