Wollongong and Bayside trial noise cameras to combat hoons and reduce noisy vehicle impact on communities.

Wollongong and Bayside are trialling noise cameras, launched by the Environment Protection Authority, to crack down on hoons. The mobile cameras capture images of cars, including number plates, and their noise levels. Residents can nominate areas of "anti-social driving" for camera placement via the EPA website. The trial aims to reduce the impact of noisy vehicles on communities and complement police resources.
