Japan's moon lander, SLIM, survives third lunar night after initial solar panel issues.
Japan's moon lander, SLIM (Smart Lander for Investing Moon), has survived its third freezing lunar night, according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. The lander, which made Japan the fifth country to successfully place a probe on the moon, landed on January 20 and experienced issues with its solar panels initially facing away from the sun. Despite these challenges, the lander has continued to operate and collect geological data and images.
