SpaceX's injury rates at its facilities have exceeded industry averages for the second consecutive year, according to safety data reported to U.S. regulators. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) revealed that injury rates at some SpaceX facilities worsened compared to the previous year, with Brownsville, Texas manufacturing-and-launch facility reporting 5.9 injuries per 100 workers, up from 4.8 in 2022 and more than the industry average of 0.8. The high injury rates raise concerns for SpaceX clients, such as NASA, which has relied on the company and paid at least $11.8bn for various contracts.
