Diver Georgitis loses arm to free self from alligator in Cooper River, South Carolina.

Diver Will Georgitis found himself pinned underwater by an alligator in the Cooper River, South Carolina, while searching for fossils. Almost out of air, Georgitis decided his only chance to survive might be to lose his arm after the alligator's jaws crushed it in defense. Despite being shaken and dragged 50 feet, Georgitis managed to rip his arm free and swim to safety.
