20-year-old Gabriel Marinoaica was jailed for six-and-a-half years after being found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl in the sea off Bournemouth beach. The attack happened on a busy summer's afternoon, with Marinoaica dragging the girl out to sea and sexually assaulting her. The girl managed to escape after someone approached them, allowing her to make it back to shore. Marinoaica was placed on the sex offenders' register for life and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years.
