61-year-old convicted murderer Scott Ian MacKay, who killed a University of Victoria student in 1987, has been granted day parole and will live in Vancouver. MacKay, who also has a history of violence towards women, is a high-risk sex offender and poses a significant risk to women in the community, including sex workers. He has been granted day parole with several conditions, including abstaining from alcohol, drugs, and pornography, and reporting any contact with females to his parole supervisor. Anyone witnessing MacKay violating these conditions is asked to call 9-1-1.
