American Airlines flight 3661, an Embraer 170 operated by Envoy Air, was forced to make an emergency landing at Kansas City International Airport after being struck by lightning during its flight to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. The plane had 42 passengers on board and no injuries were reported. The aircraft appeared undamaged from the lightning strike and was scheduled to depart again for Chicago at 8 a.m.
