An avalanche in the Austrian Alps near the ski resort of Soelden killed three people from the Netherlands and injured another, while a rescue operation was underway for two people believed to be buried under the snow. The group of 17 Dutch tourists, accompanied by four Austrian mountain guides, were climbing towards a mountain refuge when the 80-meter wide avalanche struck.
