5,300 cord blood units in Singapore deemed non-viable due to storage temperature issues.
Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that an additional 5,300 cord blood units stored in a Cordlife tank and a dry shipper are deemed non-viable, following an investigation into suboptimal storage temperatures. This is on top of the 2,200 cord blood units in one tank that were previously declared unsuitable for stem cell transplants. Cordlife expects it will take a year to complete tests on units in five other tanks, due to their complexity.
