Deadly toxin Bongkrekic acid detected in chef's feces linked to lethal food poisoning outbreak at Malaysian restaurant in Taipei.

A deadly toxin called Bongkrekic acid was detected in the feces of a chef at a Malaysian restaurant chain in Taipei, suspected to be the cause of a lethal food poisoning outbreak. Out of 34 people who ate at the restaurant between March 18 and 24, two have died and seven remain hospitalized. The toxin was traced back to the chef, whose health condition is normal, and could have originated from contaminated food during the cooking process.
