57-year-old pedestrian Paul DeMoura dies in hit-and-run on Route 44; police search for Toyota driver.
Dighton police are searching for a hit-and-run driver involved in a fatal pedestrian crash on Route 44 near the Rehoboth line. Off-duty Taunton police officer found 57-year-old Paul DeMoura lying in the breakdown lane on Route 44, and he was pronounced dead at Morton Hospital. Authorities believe DeMoura had been struck by a motor vehicle, and are seeking a Toyota vehicle, but do not know the model year.
