Azerbaijan faces a high risk of drought exposure by 2040 due to glacier loss and Caspian Sea level decline.

Azerbaijan faces high risk of global drought exposure by 2040, according to Azercosmos Chair Samaddin Asadov. The country has lost 18% of its glaciers in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus since 2017, and the Caspian Sea level has decreased by 2 meters since 1993, with 1.5 meters lost in the last five years.
