An archaeological site potentially revealing more about New Mexico's ancient history has been unearthed within Holloman Air Force Base. The site, dated around 8,200 years ago, was inadvertently buried by white sand dunes and protected by windblown silt. The discovery could shed light on the area's early inhabitants, and uncovered artifacts include flake stones, ground stone, and hearths with mesquite charcoal.
