In Hidalgo, Mexico, highway construction workers discovered a 1,375-year-old pyramid, known as the "San Miguel" site. Believed to be built by the multiethnic Lordship of Metztitlán, the pyramid, named "Structure 1," consists of five sectors with at least ten mounds. Archaeologists found 155 artifacts including ceramics and stone materials before the site was reburied due to budget cuts affecting further exploration.
