32-year-old Indian national Pitchaiah Muthupandi suffered a life-changing accident at work in 2022, when a 250kg industrial fan nearly severed his right leg. The accident led to the cancellation of his arranged marriage and left him feeling defeated, as his dream of a stable future was shattered. Muthupandi had been working in Singapore as a service engineer since August 2021, repairing motors and generators.
