58-year-old Sharon Bramhall lost her left leg in a workplace accident at Baker & Baker Products, a bakery in Bromborough, Wirral. Bramhall, who was supervising staff during high-level cleaning tasks, was struck by a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) and had to have her leg amputated below the knee. The company pleaded guilty and was fined £400,000 at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.
