Jahangirnagar University professor Anu Muhammad suffered a severe leg injury in a train accident in Dhaka's Khilgaon area on April 21, 2024. The incident occurred while attempting to disembark the train when his left leg got caught under the wheels, resulting in crushed toes that cannot be repaired. Professor Muhammad was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
