Rough seas and unexpected high tides caused havoc in coastal areas of Kerala, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, and Thrissur districts, flooding houses and roads, damaging boats, and fishing equipment. District disaster management authorities temporarily banned tourism activities in affected coastal areas. The phenomenon, known locally as 'Kallakkadal,' is expected to persist for one or two days.
