Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Banda orders a judicial inquiry into Mukhtar Ansari's death, with allegations of slow poisoning in jail.
A judicial inquiry has been ordered by the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Uttar Pradesh's Banda into the death of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari. The 63-year-old was found unconscious at the district jail and later died in hospital. Afzal Ansari, Mukhtar's brother and Ghazipur MP, alleges that his brother was given slow poison in jail. The CJM has appointed Garima Singh as the investigating officer and has requested the report within a month.
