Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who is serving a life sentence in Uttar Pradesh's Banda jail, has been admitted to the ICU of a local medical college after his health deteriorated. His brother, Afzal Ansari, accused the jail authorities of poisoning him by mixing a substance in his food, which happened twice previously. Mukhtar Ansari is undergoing treatment and his condition is stable.
