Illinois parole board member LeAnn Miller resigned after recommending the release of a man who attacked a pregnant Chicago woman with a knife and killed her 11-year-old son. Miller had prepared a report recommending Crosetti Brand's release from prison. The Illinois Prisoner Review Board's handling of the case led to Gov. J.B. Pritzker ordering a review of procedures for dealing with domestic violence situations.
