Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker appoints James Montgomery, a 30-year public service veteran, as the first executive director of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker appointed James Montgomery, a public service veteran with 30 years of experience, as the first-ever executive director of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board (PRB). Montgomery, formerly the director of administrative services at the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department in Massachusetts, will oversee administrative operations and contribute to implementing additional training programs on domestic violence prevention and equity. The appointment comes after the PRB faced criticism following the release of an inmate who later committed a violent crime.
