Troops of Nigeria's 7 Division killed five terrorists and rescued 78 hostages during clearance operations in Borno villages. The troops successfully cleared six villages where terrorists hibernated with their hostages, according to a statement by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations. The terrorists were eliminated in a fierce gun battle, and 78 people, including 35 women and 43 children, were rescued from hostage situations.
