Nigerian troops in Sokoto State rescued two hostages and killed five terrorists during a counter-terrorism operation. The troops engaged the terrorists in a gunfight after receiving a distress call from Baniguntu and Gohonau woodland areas. The rescued hostages, identified as Nura Isya and Saluhu Hamza, were handed over to the Chairman of Gudu Local Government Area for medical treatment and reunification with their families.
