SEBI introduces beta version of optional T+0 settlement cycle for equity cash markets, providing traders an optional basis and paving the way for potential future transition to instant settlement. This move is seen as a progressive step in the evolution of India's securities market infrastructure, leveraging advancements in technology and risk management capabilities. The beta version of the T+0 settlement cycle will be implemented starting March 28, initially available for a limited set of 25 scrips and with a limited number of brokers. This optional system will operate alongside the existing T+1 settlement cycle in the equity cash market.
