India's SEBI approves T+0 settlement beta for 25 scrips and select brokers, launching March 28, 2024.

India's market regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has approved a beta version of the T+0 settlement, which allows for same-day settlement of trades, for a limited set of 25 scrips and with a restricted group of brokers. The move, aimed at increasing liquidity in the market, will be launched on an optional basis from March 28, 2024. SEBI will review the progress after three and six months from the launch date and decide on further steps based on stakeholder feedback.
