Tipperary woman Mary Lowry received a suspended prison sentence and a one-year driving ban for causing the death of charity cyclist Patrick Connolly due to careless driving in 2021. Lowry admitted her guilt and expressed remorse to the Connolly family. The judge acknowledged the lack of aggravating factors and Lowry's cooperation with the investigation as well as her past tragedy of losing her husband.
